The Australian Tibetan Society Inc. (ATS) is a non government tax exempt incorporated charitable association that was formed at a special meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India on 10 January 1975. Supported entirely by volunteers, our focus is on the development of Tibetan cultural traditions and delivering humanitarian support to needy Tibetan communities. Through various organized activities we are bringing Australians and Tibetans closer together.

MISSION

To provide practical assistance to Tibetan communities in need and to encourage the continuing development of Tibetan cultural traditions.

OBJECTIVES

1. Tibetan Communities
To fund projects which assist Tibetan communities in need.

2. Continuing Development of Tibetan Culture
To encourage the continuing development of Tibetan Cultural traditions in Australia and elsewhere.

3. Presentation of Tibetan Culture
To organise activities which present and promote Tibetan Culture in Australia.

4. Bringing together Australians and Tibetans
To provide activities whereby Australian and Tibetan people can come together for constructive interaction.

5. Information Services
To disseminate information material in support of the Society's objectives.

6. Membership Development
To develop the membership of the Society to include as wide a representation of people from the Australian community as possible.

7. Fundraising
To raise funds to support the Society's objectives.

8. Financial Management
To manage the funds and resources of the Society to achieve the fullest possible implementation of its objectives.
